Mixing prints can turn out to be a train wreck but I'm all aboard this crazy train. Getting the right look can be a real science but here are a few helpful tips to conduct your perfect mix. Stick to two patterns: I usually opt for a stripe and a floral as you see here but I also love a stripe and a plaid mix as seen here. If you've checked out that past post, you'll notice I broke my own rule and added a third pattern. However, it was just the slightest hint of leopard...do as I say not as I do! Ha! In that particular case it seemed to work. You've probably picked up on another tip by now: My stripes usually consist of black and white and are usually a wider stripe. Don't make the outfit too busy and distracting, you kind of want the craziness to blend. Think controlled craziness. This brings me to my last tip: colors. Unless you want to mistaken for a person on a "day pass" keep the colors somewhat neutral, nothing too bright, nothing to loud. You don't want the company you keep to require a dose of Dramamine to be around you. Now go into your closet and mix things up. Life is short, it doesn't have to be boring!
